This is for Arch Linux, but is it of any use?

The mouse pointer typically changes in response to whatever you're
hovering over, like when it turns to a hand with a pointing finger
over a link or an I over text or an arrow over most other things.
I've never seen an X that I can recall (other than the very cool
skull and crossbones when I run xkill), but they mention one there.
