Thanks. I'm using motion on my existing security system but it
did not seem to work with this camera. This is supposed to work
with something called 365Cam and is apparently supoprted by iOS
and android although it may have some windoze interface too.
I also tried ffplay and some more nmap scans but the only thing
that comes up is 10002 tcp of unknown utility. It gives a default
password in the instructions but the user name is in a small screen
shot lol. I'm sure this protocol is documented some where but
no idea what is is called beyond the above.
I'd be amazed if there is more 'dohs support than linux however.

Thanks.

I purposely bought a PoE ony model, a Reolink one, but here is what I
do:-

Set the camera to a fixed IP address

Install motion from the Ubuntu repository

In /etc/motion/motion.conf
set something like:-
# The full URL of the network camera stream.
# ; netcam_url value
netcam_url rtsp://192.168.2.151
netcam_userpass admin:passcode

Apparently rtsp specifies a protocol supported by almost all cameras.

No reason you can't do the same with WiFi.

I've not investigated running it over IPv6. Other things in here such
as my Analog Telephone Interface work fine with IPv6 but as they say,
"if it ain't broke don't fix it".

Hope this helps you.
