what is needed to interface with iOS or Android "doorbell cameras" on ubuntu?

If these are just really cheap webcams I can integrate with
my existing system using a variety of ubuntu packages
along with my "mikmail" precursor :) I would have to check
but I think I'm using an ubuntu motion detection package
along with some mail stuff and a customized neomutt
system. The thing just waits for the motion package to find
motion, copies a few jpegs into a mail message and I can
get the alrt in my mail.

For 20 dollars I can plug it in and see if ubuntu
can find it as another video device lol.
But for that you get video and audio etc.
Sounds like a good deal.
