if by now you and others haven't understood that this "severe
improvement" of FAKE choice is EXACTLY the problem I and others are
complaining about, I really wonder how the discussion could ever get

And I repeat FAKE choice, because there is NO choice here. The only
"choice" that the mess we are actually talking about gives is being
forced to not choose, but use ALL the package formats that everybody
and their dog invented.

and this, for the hundredth time, is exactly what we are complaining
about. Even if we were wrong, selling it as the solution, that is
misunderstanding what others are saying, isn't helping
