It does. It turned out that there was a .deb file for the program I'm
interested in after all, so the dpkg-deb --info command provided a
rather large list of Depends, and small lists of Recommends and
Suggests. Thanks for the reminder.

I don't want to do that. There's a reason why it's no longer
available (just like there's a reason why PhotoPrint, from this
thread, is no longer available), so I'd rather not integrate it with
the rest of my system. Isolating it inside of a snap, though, is an
intriguing idea.
My one concern is that it would need to be able to open links in
Firefox. Similarly, if the OP decides to go the same way and install
the old version of PhotoPrint (which may or may not be a good idea,
but can be looked into), then he would need it to be able to print.
Neither of us would benefit by the programs being completely
isolated, but I get the impression they wouldn't be.
