I tend to install the whole HPLIP thing direct from 
https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/gethplip
nowadays, rather than worry about individual drivers, and let it do what 
it wants to do. It seems to work fine now, after a few years ago having 
some very dodgy OfficeJet drivers, during which period I just copied the 
working driver from a Mac.

Bear in mind that a printer "driver" is just a Postscript file (PPD) 
which should work on any platform with printer service software (eg 
CUPS, HPLIP, etc) installed.
