Changing the default option for encrypted USB drives

I have some LUKS-encrypted USB drives. Whenever I plug them in, I get
a dialog asking for the passphrase with three options below the text
field:
* Forget password immediately
* Remember password until you log out
* Remember forever
The second one (until you log out) is always the default. Is there a
way to change it so that "forget immediately" is the default?
If I use the second option, is there a way to clear the passphrase
manually without having to log out?
If I accidentally use the third option, where is it stored and how can
I clear it manually?
(Ubuntu-MATE 22.04 LTS, but this has been bugging me for years on
previous versions.)
Thanks
