Prevent laptop from suspending when lid is closed with external monitor attached?

(Ubuntu-MATE 22.04 LTS)

I now have a large monitor with an HDMI connection at work. If I plug
it in to my laptop to use instead of the built-in display, connect a
USB keyboard, and close the lid to move the laptop out of the way, it
suspends.

Is there an option to disable that but only while an external monitor
is connected? (In other words, closing the lid would have no effect
while an external monitor is in use, but would suspend normally
without one.)
