Another pitfall are drop-in directories/files.
You might edit /etc/security/limits.conf, but the content is overridden
by a file in /etc/security/limits.d/. You think that you are smart, so
you add a file /etc/security/limits.d/99-foo.conf, to override
/etc/security/limits.conf and even /etc/security/limits.d/12-foo.conf,
but you are missing that the value for foo is changed by another
file, too, 99-zz_bar_evil_vendor.
