sending mail with ubuntu 22, postfix, dovecot

I migrated from 20-22 a few weeks back and foolishly chose to not 
preserve config files. I have got most of it working again but can not 
figure out how to do the port 587 authenticated sending mail thing. I 
was using mail-stack delivery successfully for years but that is no 
longer in development. I can use mynetworks to send from my home but I 
want to be able to do it with auth from anywhere. Have any of you been 
successful with that?
