I still wonder how the magic typing faked keyboard gets access to a
terminal. Ctrl+Alt+T e.g. would open a guest's terminal, if the focus is
on the virtual machine's guest window. A shortcut might allow to switch
to focus the host OS and then Ctrl+Alt+T would open a terminal for the
host. Or do they fake a keyboard, by still getting more than just
keyboard access? If so, it sounds more like the 0-day rumored keys.
It's not easy to rewrite and install the firmware by malware. I suspect
that some controllers can't be reprogrammed at all.
