I have not encountered UEFI before I migrated my very old server to new Lenovo
hardware some months ago and I must say I do not understand much of its
workings...

With help from Liam I managed to migrate my old server to the new box, but that
one still has Windows10 (never used for anything) on the disk.

Now I again am dealing with a computer (HP this time) with UEFI and I have at
least access to the UEFI display from the boot sequence by hitting F10, but I am
none the wiser anyway..

I don't know if UEFI f/w is current or if there is some update, but if there is
I have no knowledge on how to update it...
Can it be done from within LinuxMint?

I have worked my way through all (?) of the screens in the UEFI BIOS and used my
phone to photograph them so I can at least refer to the content if someone
suggest something..
Concerning UEFI itself there is one tab named "UEFI Drivers" which contains the
following:

"This will restart the system into the 3rd Party Option ROM Management
application
You can get to this application directly by pressing F3 dusring startup."
Below there is a text link saying
"3rd Party Option ROM Management"

On the main menu there is another link I have not dared to use:

=> Update System BIOS

I do not know if this refers to the UEFI or the HP BIOS...

No, but as part of the initial tests of the system during install I also ran
diagnostics including memory test and they were OK.

Right now after installing LinuxMint-Cinnamon 20.3 and configuring it to log me
in to the desktop I am not experiencing any unwanted reboots.
It has been running several days without any such problems.
