Some apps will not load in VNC, why?

I have installed TigerVNC in LinuxMint-Cinnamon on my headless Mini PC (see
other thread about SSH disconnection).

It works very well in general terms but I just discovered that when I want to
use certain applications they never display.
Here is an list of a some:

Administration:
- GParted
- Login Window
- Driver Manager
- Software Sources
- Synaptic Package Manager
- System Reports
- Timeshift
- Users and Groups

In general they cause a rotating circle to appear on screen and then disappear
or else nothing at all happens.

Is there some setting that can change this behaviour?
