Ubuntu 20.04.3 desktop (Cinnamon) - SSH disconnects when user logs off the desktop!

The reason I cannot access the data is that the follow-up install opf Ubuntu
server trashed the disk and basically wiped my other installed Linuxes...
The partitions are no longer there...
