I agree with this — but I also would go further. Check for firmware
updates and install any you can find.

This is basic router maintenance, and everyone should do it — after at
least verifying that their router doesn't do it automatically on its
own *and* that this is working and it's on the current release.

A good 15Y ago, I was dating someone whose home broadband was very
unreliable and so sometimes I had to use her next-door neighbours'
open wifi.

When theirs got unreliable too, I logged into their router, noted down
all their config settings, then upgraded their router's firmware for
them. :-D It helped — it was more stable afterwards.
