But that's what these ranges are _for_. It is their raison d'être.

If you want a private network of 256 address: 192.168.0.1 — 192.168.255.255
If you want 65,636 addresses:172.16.0.0 — 172.31. 255.255
If you want 16 million addresses: 10.0.0.1 — 10.255.255.255

What subrange you pick doesn't make much difference.
Properly-configured internet routers won't pass traffic for any of
them.
