Mystery logoff

Nouveau and NVIDIA cards don't really play together that well. I have had issues with that all the time.
What I did , on a machine that cased a lot of trouble, swapped the graphics card for an AMD, never had an issue again.
(also, there are hardware specific drivers for NVIDIA cards. It used to be the case you had to recompile the driver, now
  you have to update them separately, still a hassle.)
