That's right. Or on the desktop version, type

sudo update-manager -d

... for the GUI updater.

Sounds good. If you have snaps, add

snap refresh

... to the end.

To clear old versions after an update, add:

apt autoremove

To empty the package cache, which can get big, add:

apt clean

To remove config files as well as binaries, add:

apt purge

So I do:

sudo -s
apt update ; apt full-upgrade -y ; apt autoremove ; apt clean ; apt
purge ; snap refresh
