I've found in the past that a "USB charge cable" is just that - it will
charge the device from any USB socket and do nothing else i.e. it won't
provide a data connection.
Having purchased other cables from a certain supplier through eBay
(USB, Ethernet, TOSLink optical audio) that always seem to be of
excellent quality, their micro USB cables and any other micro USB data
cable work just fine to connect my Motorola g8 Power Lite to any of the
computers I own and allow me to transfer files from/to either the built
in memory or the micro SD card.
Whilst I have a lovely 20.1" 1600x1200 Samsung monitor purchased in
2005 that I'm using right now and a Samsung TV of similar age, both
absolutely perfect still, I'd just say that if that's the sort of
practice they're up to now, thanks for the warning and I'll stick with
Motorola mobile gadgets.
