What I was trying to say, but blew it, was that only one / could exist.
mount points can be anyplace leading back to that /

In fact I have a subdir entry in /home/me/3dp.stf/sdb1 on the machine
that feeds my 3d printer. empty until I mount the sd card from my prusa
printer there, so its handy to cura and writing a slice file with mc is
a whole lot less clicks than cd'ing back to /media. And I don't need to
be root to do it since vfat has no concept of ownership.

I could hook up a usb cable and skip the card, but udev (i think its
udev) seems to scan even busy usb ports, and contaminates the print in
progress as it does so. I think its a buglet but using the card for that
4 foot data move is more dependably done. It Just Works.

Cheers, Gene Heskett.
