That's i386.

It means you're running 32-bit Ubuntu. That is basically dead now. You
need to switch to 64-bit.


If your hardware is _really_  based on 32bit, you can not use 64bit software.

Luckily there are still distro’s that keep their 32bit branch up-to-date.
Unfortunately, Canonical not.
