Small laser printer for Ubuntu - recommendations?

Looks like the consensus is: buy a Brother laser printer.
I use a HP Multifunction Laser Jet and I like it. It scans and prints (but
not duplex - other models may do that). The HP software for it is available
from the APT software repositories and I tend to install the hplip-gui
package before connecting the printer to a system for the first time.
For example, when I run the command "apropos hp-", it lists 34 commands
related to using the printer/scanner.
