Ventoy usage

Thank you for reading this.
After two days of trying I finally got a usable Internet connection and
downloaded Ventoy. However, I seem to have missed a vital step in
setting it up because the USB stick does not boot.
This is what I have done:
1. Installed Ventoy using the gui method which results in
/media/phil/Ventoy.
2. sudo ./Ventoy2Disk.sh -i /dev/sdb - this results in two partitions
3. I then copied the Xubuntu.iso file to /media/phil/Ventoy - I don't
think this is correct
I've set the boot mode to legacy and then press F12 and select the USB
drive. After some time I'm presented with the same menu options. The
same thing happens with a USB stick that has been created with startup
disk creator. The only way that I can get past this repeating menu is to
set the start option to "both". I haven't tried this with the Ventoy
stick because I want to install the iso files under legacy mode.
