Quoting with just indentation is not ideal; it is difficult for users
with visual impairments, and it does not survive being turned into
plain text.

I think there _must_ be something about this machine you are not telling us.

To go from one Ubuntu release to another  means running
`do-release-upgrade`. This does not happen on its own, and Canonical
do not have the ability to reach into your computers and run commands
on them.

Someone or something ran that process on your machine. It does not
happen on its own.
