On my Acer Aspire V3-772G, I have

"
:~$uname -a

This is running nVIDIA drivers, and has Optimus.

Unfortunately, I can not copy the text from Control Center -> nVIDIA X
Server Settings, which shows the applicable driver(s).

This computer dates back top about October 2013, I think.

I also have an Acer Aspire 5750G, that also has nVIDIA Optimus, and I
do not have a problem with either computer, running vlc, on kernel
5.11 with the nVIDIA drivers (installed and updated via Ubuntu)..

I am running UbuntuMATE 21.04, on each computer.

I have no idea pof the age of your computer, or, of your nVIDIA components.

I am no expert - I am merely a UbuntuMATE user.
