Ubuntu for (primary) school usage

Hi,

I'm looking for a Linux distro or a BSD, preferable an Ubuntu flavour
with e.g. a PPA or an Ubuntu derivative for elementary school usage,
with school software pre-installed or installable by a metapackage.

I consider to test Zorin OS Education as a guest in a virtual machine
on a Linux host, but I don't consider to install it on elementary
school computers or something like that, due to a security risk, see
https://forum.zorin.com/t/signed-checksum/11331 . However, running it
in a virtual machine, it's at least possible to see, if it's more than
just Xubuntu with https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/edubuntu-desktop ,
or for my needs https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/ubuntu-edu-primary .

Is anybody experienced in Ubuntu for school usage?
