I attempted to get around this requirement Colin by disconnecting from 
the Internet. This has worked in the past but it caused me "something 
went wrong" errors and retries this time until the installation 
eventually came to a standstill. It's not a big deal because I created 
an account when I first installed Windows 7 many years ago and Microsoft 
never forgets
