vnc port forwarding

Sorry I tried this earlier. sudo lsof -i:5900

I get nothing. No error message,
 just goes to a new  terminal prompt .
I tried it again same.
I am running these command using vnc viewer (192.168....) because it is
headless  raspberry pi.

I  am able to access SSH using external IP but not vnc.
