In reply to my own post on a fairly old thread, if it helps anybody.

I bought a Reolink RLC-410-5MP from an eBay seller. It initially
configures itself to the network with DHCP. The Android app finds it
and gives the IP address but I suppose that this could just as easily
be found by listing the connected devices on the router. It's then easy
enough to set a fixed IP address and admin passcode. Logging in to the
admin stuff it looks like additional users can be set up but I've not
fiddled with that yet.

I'm still running it as a temporary lash up but I do now have it
permanently installed on an outside wall. That is what took me some
time to figure out because it's in an inconvenient to access place
above a roof. After a lot of thought, planning, making a metal drilling
guide and consultation with the retired guy across the street who used
to be a roofer, the job went smoothly this afternoon.

Perhaps the most important thing I want to say is that motion works
with this camera which is reasonably priced and appears to be well
made. To get it working, in motion.conf I have set
netcam_url rtsp://192.168.2.151
netcam_userpass admin:myadminpasscode

Then begins the fiddling with the image processing and motion detection
parameters.
