Thanks to you and Ralf. I was thinking at an apps level and it seems to
be a system level problem. This is the latest Kubuntu 20.04 LTS
version. I didn't think it uses Wayland, but that could be wrong.
Display is 3840 x 2160. I found a global scale 'slider' in display
settings - that looks like the thing to set from the default 100% to
about 160% to get the right dpi based on the physical size, assuming a
default of 96 dpi. Did not change much when I did that, but may need a
reboot to set things up, which I'll do when I complete the 20-30 things
I'm working on.
Lots of stuff on the net re hi-res display problems in Kubuntu, so not
sure the above is the right solution. Your thoughts much appreciated...
