When I ran the apt purge command to get rid of snapd, as advised by
Oliver Grawert, I think it was, the command included the removal of
chromium, which I was happy to see go.
I had installed chromium, as a means to access the web sites that
require chrome, to avoid giving all my data to the evil spy
organisation google that is the source of chrome, but, upon trying
chromium, from memory, it is one of those new, bodgy web browsers that
prohibits or does not allow, use of the menu bar.
