Is 12.04 upgradable?

Well, to my *great* supprise, 16.04 server *mostly* worked -- it was wonky about 
the RAID array for /boot and wanted to reformat it (and /home!) and wanted to 
use the swap partitions on the VMs and also wanted to boot the VMs as bare 
metal installs (serious stupidity).  Nipped that in the bud.  I had to 
manually hack things (/etc/fstab, etc.) after the install, from the CentOS 6 
system.  Serious funky install process.  Reminds me of back in the day 
installing Slackware from floppies...
