I have a T470 Thinkpad which I bought refurbished a couple of years
ago. It's ideal for Linux, I run xubuntu on it. It came with an SSD
so 'replacing' the hard drive hasn't been an issue, however I have
added a second (SATA) SSD to it and that was very straightforward.
Hardware documentation is good.
