I did use my Nokia 6310 via Bluetooth, both to a laptop and to a Psion
PDA over IRDA.
But yes, it is much too hard and not getting a lot better.

Yup. Audio is the only thing that seems to work reliably.
On Ubuntu about 5Y ago, I had to install a whole new Bluetooth stack
to get a mouse working, and it wasn't reliable then.
A colleague of mine at SUSE found a set of steps to get Bluetooth
audio working with openSUSE for all of our video meetings. It was
astonishingly complex. I didn't even try, TBH.
