I saw this story about the Unity remix in a newsfeed the other day, right
about the time I upgraded from 19.10 to 20.04 "Focal Fossa" on this laptop,
and the first time I logged in to my upgraded laptop, I was surprised to
see Unity as one of the login options.

I know I found Unity to be very functional and was disappointed they
dropped it, but now I'm getting serious mixed messages. Is someone at
Canonical supporting Unity? It must have been on my laptop because I had
tried it out in the past (it seems to mostly be in the Universe
repository). I know I wasn't using it because it was seriously broken
through several releases (since 18.04 I think), but the version I see in
Focal actually seems to be fully functional.

I know the news story made a big deal about the person (I hesitate to call
him a "kid" -- "remixer"? "maintainer"?) basing his remix upon Unity 7
instead of Unity 8. I find it hard to tell what version Unity I have --
ubuntu-unity-desktop in Focal is version 0.2. Ubuntu Session is
version 3.36.0-2ubuntu1. Unity-services is verson
7.5.0+20.04.20200312-0ubuntu1.

Anyway, I'm glad to see some attention being paid to Unity. But I don't
want to get TOO accustomed to it if its support is uneven.
