RealVNC works fine when you use the cloud version... IP address changes,
even reboots and reconnects. It also allows to more or less dynamically
change compression/image quality to adapt for bandwidth.
(but to use cloud connections, you need an account there - which you can
get for free for up to 5 machines)
The other things is that RealVNC is multi-platform (works fine with Windows
hosts, as well as Linux, RaspberryPi - where it's pre-installed, and a
bunch of others). So one client regardless of your platform... and servers
on quite a few types of machines... And the cloud version means you can
find your hosts even through an NAT or a VPN without having to
port-forward... :)
I think different use cases mean different platforms,
