Yes, appreciate that but the packages involved are from the Ubuntu distros.

What about:

Found that downloaded it and it installed OK with
dpkg -i iproute2_4.18.0-1ubuntu2~ubuntu18.04.1_amd64.deb
<http://launchpadlibrarian.net/415980736/iproute2_4.18.0-1ubuntu2~ubuntu18.04.1_amd64.deb>
and it's listed in the backport Packages file.

OK, thanks for responding. Just thought there might be a good reason for the
problem. Maybe it's a bug in the Mint version of apt?
