Not sure this is relevant or not, but I had an issue with an fstab that
listed a disk by LABEL=.  (gcloud ubuntu VM)  I had booted a copy of the
original, and thought I was now running the new system.  But while it
*booted* from the copy, it *mounted* / from the LABEL=<old disk> in the
(copied) fstab, so was effectively running the old system and not the new
(booted from) one.
