How to stop laptop from going to sleep when lid closed (18.04 LTS Mate)

Yes, I know about overheating notebooks...
Something like 15 years ago I had one out to my parents summer home
and was using it on my bed there not thinking about the cooling
issues.
And suddenly it just stopped working, totally dead.

Fast forward to today, the two HP notebooks I am discussing here have
been docked on an HP power dock with the lid closed and fastened to
the side of a desktop cupboard. My notebook has been running 24/7 for
8 years or so without issues. I have temp monitoring software running
on my PC:s ever since the overheat experience above. So I see that
these notebooks cool OK.

But your suggestion is really valid for some notebooks, good advice!
