And the same for Ubuntu 19.04... The behavior is too much like trying to
connect to a too far distant AP -- close enough to see the SSID, but not
close enough to make a solid connection, *except* iwconfig is showing a good
signal. Something is definately weird here.
Given that the machine's battery is kaput (and thus it must be tethered to its
power brick), being tethered to an Ethernet cord is probably not a serious
problem. And of course it is still usable to edit documents residing on thumb
drives.
