PPS:

A guest does not need that much memory as an install on bare metal,
instead the host needs enough memory, too. However, I'm mistaken and
Oliver is right. GNOME is that bloated, that it require such a
ridiculous high amount of available memory.

2048 MiB RAM (system memory) for virtualised installs.
3D Acceleration Capable Videocard with at least 256 MB"
