Ubuntu 19.04 VERY long load times w/ Nvidia graphics (esp compared to 18.10)

So it is an nvidia issue, but only if you have "nomodeset".
I don't know about nvidia, I am glad to say, given the problems so
many seem to have, so other than checking that you have the latest
appropriate driver installed I will have to pass on this one.
