How to remove "user at host's password" from ssh login prompt?

That's exactly what I'm seeing.

Most of the systems that respond with "chris@<hostname>'s password:"
are 'my' systems, they are mostly xubuntu or ubuntu (or debian
derived).   The system that responds "Password:" isn't mine but it is
also Linux and runs Debian too.
