A better flabour?

I started with 14.04 with my parents. I put the icons on the desktop
for Email (link to online email) Web, Documents. That is all they
wanted to do. I think I agree with the others: you friend is either
doing something on purpose, doenst want it , or is doing something
and not telling you.
