That's the whole point. Another issue is, that Ubuntu and maybe no PPA
provides alternative Firefox alike browsers. OTOH while Falkon still
isn't provided by official Ubuntu repos, QupZilla still is. Indeed,
other than e.g. Pale Moon, where several Firefox add-ons might
work, QupZilla can't use those add-ons at all, but since Bret
experiences strange issues, nowbody of us does experience, too, missing
add-ons might be the cure to get rid of those issues.

However, sometimes it's possible to install the binary of a browser
without a package, a famous Firefox clone example for this is Icecat.
Note, Icecat is good for some purposes, but also comes with issues. A
combination of Icecat and Chrome or QupZilla could be a possible
solution.

For Bret Firefox is broken, period. He needs to migrate to another
browser or a combination of browsers.

All of us seemingly concur in the opinion that staying with an outdate
browser is no solution.
