Cannot connect to some wifi networks.

My update of Ubuntu and my loss of access to a router appears merely
coincidental. I only suspected that the problem was because of an update. I
didn't know where the problem was coming from, and, because my computer
appeared to be the only one using the router to have the problem, I
(erroneously in hindsight) speculated that the problem was due to an Ubuntu
update that happened meanwhile. As most things seem to sort themselves out
in this way, I wasn't surprised to find my suspicions came to naught
although I am happy to find that I have access to the router again.
