Setup for a dash cam.

I like the idea of a front facing camera inside a rear-view mirror (it
seems easier to conceal and obstruct removal - both deterrence to theft),
however I suppose the orientation of the rear-view mirror would affect the
view from the camera. Hence, does such camera have a lens that can also be
moved?

I also want to be aware of any compatibility issues with Ubuntu that might
make it better to stay away from purchasing certain brands;your advice is
greatly appreciated.
