PS:

It's possible to stay with both versions, but I removed
Google Earth Pro.

If you try to launch Google Earth or Google Earth pro from the menu,
but it should fail, run

  killall google-earth-pro

and/or

  killall google-earth

then

  rm ~/.googleearth/instance-running-lock

after that try again launching it from the menu.
