Can anyone tell me what is wrong with LibreOffice?

So, now I have decided to download a fresh image of 16.04. Being that
Ubuntu is great software, and LO is not bad too (once you work around the
installation problems), I am of the view that I can spare $15 for the
privilege of being able to purchase a very good OS at a very competitive
price.

I'm a disability pensioner, so $15 is a big deal for me. I'd also like to
thank people here for giving me some suggestions as to what might have
really been wrong with my LO installation; I was frustrated, and I did get
some of the facts wrong.
