Just want to say again that if you ensure that user concerns are
actually listened to, because they can pay money for achieving that
( development direction or influence becomes a commodity you sell )
Then you don't need any replacement for e.g. LibreOffice.
Allow users to direct development and you're done.
As soon as people can make money by listening to users, they will do so.
